Origami Fan

This origami fan is easy to make and is a joy for children. Despite its ease in construction, it can be very beautiful when patterned origami paper is used.

Origami Fan Intructions

  1. Start with a rectangular sheet of paper, color side up. Exact size does not matter, a ratio of 1:2 is fine.

Valley fold the bottom quarter section of the paper up.

  2. Pleat the paper accordion style. The number of pleats you make depends on the length of your paper.

  3. Compress the pleats into a tight stack. Flare open the top end while you pinch and hold the bottom section. This forms a fan shape.

Optional: tape, glue, or staple the handle to keep it pinched tight.
